Dolmen, cromlech, quoit - they all mean the same thing and, yes, they're burial chambers. Most are neolithic (3000-4000 years old), and the thinking is that originally they would have been covered in a bank of earth (a barrow), but nobody's really sure.

A quick google search revealed that a 'quoit' is a tomb? Or is it a table?
